Indianapolis

Ladies I had a great time at convention.  Receive a wonderful leather bag full of goodies (free books, magazines, etc.) and heard great speakers.  The highlight was Tudesday afternoon at the ministries wives conference.  Gary Chapman was our guest speaker.  I didn’t realize how funny he was.  At the end of his presentation he asked us to bow in prayer and clasp our hands together.  A photograher for the Baptist Press was seated at my table and took my picture.  It was in the June 17 Western Reader.   ladies-conference-me.jpg

Pray

Each month Shannon and I (Leah) like to give the Bayou Girls a word or phrase to think about.  For the month of June your word is ‘pray’.  Pray for your neighbor, co-worker, unsaved friend, etc.  If you look at the church prayer list and the list on this blog they are long and we continue to add.  We have seen the power of prayer and some have experienced it.  So PRAY

June is a very busy month in the life of our church and individual families. We have vacations and extra activities crowding our schedules. We need to remember God doesn’t take a vacation. Sundays and Wednesdays we will be having services and God is always available for prayer time. Thank you God for not taking vacations, were would we be if HE did?

In August our church has organized a mission trip to Lynch KY. Bro. Lonnie Riley is can-goods.jpgthe overseer of this mission field. He has informed us that they are out/running very low on can goods. They have even had to shut down their pantry due to this. So until the trip we will be collecting can for this ministry. Please only can goods. You can place you items in the foyer.
